JULY 2008
There are two things I can always count on Chris dropping everything to do... a meal at The Cheesecake Factory and Boating. Since a boat is not in our near future, we jump at any invitation extended to us. We have been lucky to have some friends take us out on their boats this summer. Here are just a few fun pics from our water adventures............. I know Captian Eric looks like he is just enjoying piloting his boat, however that big smile is because he knows he is about to dump all those on the tubes behind him!

Cabo Wabo
July 5-12, 2008
Chris and I had the pleasure of accompanying some friends on a world class vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! Little did we know we were bringing Steven w/ us who loves to cook, he made us dinner practically every night! What a treat. Then in the morning Lucia would show up and have breakfast ready and on the table for us to lazily crawl out of bed to enjoy. We were spoiled beyond belief! We went snorkling, hiking, zip-lining, shopped till we dropped, and spent a day doing spa treatments. It was a memorable time. Thanks to our friends James and Andrea!

WOW! We made it through the First year!
June 12-15, 2008
It's hard to believe a whole year has gone by. I think we experienced more in our first year as newlyweds, than most. Chris started a new company, (Yeah!) which was later broken into while we were on our delayed "honeymoon", (boo) then we had the unfortuante loss of my cousin, who was more like a sister. On the positive note, we adopted a cute little puppy, who is training us to be good parents one day! We survived! We have only grown stronger as a couple, and learned to lean on one another.
Chris wanted to do something really fun for our 1st Anniversary (which was actually 6-14 I'm a little behind on my posts), so we planned a trip to San Diego for the weekend. As you can see from our pictures, we crammed alot into 4 days. We had a blast, and enjoyed every minute of it!
Thanks sweeetheart for a wonderful time!!!

Linda "O" Tagged me....
Since Linda is always SOOO patient with me and my lack of BLOG participation, I thought I had better complete this task (being that it was a pretty easy one to do). She tagged me to take pictures of the following items and post them. (KITCHEN SINK, TOILET, LAUNDRY AREA, FRIDGE, KIDS, FAVORITE SHOES, FAVORITE ROOM, CLOSET, SELF PORTRAIT, & DREAM VACATION). I then have to anger 5 of my closet friends and tag them to keep the game going! Sorry JULIE,SHANTEL,GAIL,LONI, and DANA! But have fun on the scavenger hunt. =)

Lil' Justins All Grown Up...
On Thursday June 5 we were able to celebrate with Chris' nephew Justin as he and Kristie were married in the Salt Lake Temple. We are excited to welcome her to the family!Don't they make an adorable couple. For being the first week in June, you would have expected it to be beautiful weather in the 80's, however up in Millcreek Canyon, we were exposed to 45* weather. BRRRRRR... just a little chilly for an outdoor reception. Thank goodness for the heater lamps, I was stuck to them all night!
Justin & Chris
We found a nice fence to relax on........
This is Kristie's sister Karoline, and their cousin. Chris and I think she is simply beautiful. One day we hope to be in a position to adopt a child of our own. After seeing her cute face, a little Chinese baby would be fun

Strutt Your Mutt
This weekend, we went with some friends to Sugar House Park and participated in the 1.5 mile doggie walk to benefit no more homeless pets in Utah. As you can see there were hundreds and hundreds of breeds there. What a perfect place to pick out your next pooch.
This is Kava, One of Chris' best friends Dog. He is just as tall as him when standing!

This past weekend I had a chance to travel to Southern Florida, and hang out with Family and Friends, old co-workers and past roommates. Despite the weather being 100* the whole weekend, we were able to get outside and have some fun! I forgot how humid it is there. I think when you live amongst it, you tend to just adapt.

Womens Conference
"Please tell me you have nothing going on tomorrow and you can spend all day with me"
Reluctant to hand over my freedom so easily, I asked what she had in mind.
Let me share with you my first impression of these oh so kind and loving women!
As Melanie and I were standing in line to gain access to the first class we had chosen, it was much like waiting to get into a sold out concert of Def Leopard. Every element from being trampled, pushed aside, elbowed in the back, to sneaking behind the curtain to the back door. I was dumb founded at first, and then we realized, if you cant beat 'um, join 'um! So we pushed our way through the sea of women to make it to the head of the line! It was well worth it!
We met up with my sister-in-law Melody and Mimi about half way through the day
He spoke on strengthening your marriage and working together in a partnership. He told the following story:
"A women asked her husband several times to cut their lawn, to no avail. One day about the time he was due home from work, she grabbed a pair of scissors and sat in the front yard cutting away. Thinking once he saw her, he would get the idea and finally cut the lawn. He went inside, changed his clothes, and a few moments later he came back with a toothbrush and said... once you're done with the lawn, why don't you get started on cleaning the sidewalks!!...not sure if the man is walking just yet!"
Not only did he make us laugh, but made me realize, constant nagging still wont get the task done!! We all bring individual strengths and weaknesses to every relationship, the key is to find a way to compliment one another and work together.
All in all it was a great day, and I walked away feeling like I had lots to grow!

Tribute to Linda...
So my sweet friend LINDA (who MADE me start this Blog), has now given me strict instructions on the upkeep. Apparently it is "blogging law" that if you have one, it must receive a minimum of 1 post a month. Irregardless of how boring my life might be at times! I have obviously slacked on that the past few months(because not much has happened), so I decided I would have to leave the comforts of my house and do something so I could write about it! SO LINDA... the next few posts are dedicated to you, and will hopefully bring my Blog back into good standing within the blogging world!

Friday Night at Wal-Mart
Slightly sick and twisted, i know, but Chris and I are fascinated with Polygamist watching at Wal-Mart. We have made it a "must-do" every time we visit St.George. This past weekend we made our scheduled stop, and even brought my brother Dylan and his friend Rachael with us to witness the event. We were highly disappointed to not see a single family there. But that's ok, as you can see from the pictures, we found plenty else to keep us entertained. As luck would have it, as soon as we piled back in the car, a van load pulled up. We could feel like our visit was complete!
Dylan being punished for making an "unscheduled" pit stop. clean up on aisle 9....

Kickin' off the New Year!!!
Every year I resolve to a few new things, this year I have committed myself to the following:
- Take a Pilates lesson
- Compete with Chris to get ABS OF STEEL!!
- Take a cooking class and learn 3 new healthy recipes
- Enhance my computer skills by learning how to do Excel spreadsheets( I should have paid better attention in school when learning formulas)
- Develop patience in raising a puppy(if I can do this, maybe children wont be so hard)
- Travel to a country I have yet to visit(Chris and I are debating on Bali and Greece)
- Continue to "re"create our home by updating the kitchen and bathrooms
- Buy Chris a snowblower, so he doesnt have to break his back shoveling all the snow we have been getting here in Utah.
- Sell enough homes to pay for all the above =)
A wise man once told me in regards to goals: " A goal is just a wish of the heart, unless you find a way to be accountable for it. Write it down, share it with a friend, and refer to it often." So I figured by sharing this with all of you, I will accomplish 75% more of those goals!! haha
As we have both been working on #4, I think Chris is getting the best training. Conveniently, he is always the first to hear the puppy(Barkley)in the middle of the night, and willingly gets up to take him outside for the greatly needed potty break. He is going to be a FANTASTIC dad, especially since he lets me sleep through it all.
Kudos to all of you who have made it through the month, and are still going strong on your goals!
